The Culture commissioner of Villa del Río receives in Madrid the recognition of the AEPE and of the 93rd Autumn Salon for his patronage work.

Antonio Lara Quero, Culture commissioner of the Villa del Río City Council, has been distinguished as an honorary member of the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors (AEPE) and of the 93rd Autumn Salon of Madrid. The distinction was presented to him on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at the Casa de Vacas Cultural Center, in the Buen Retiro Park in Madrid, during the opening gala of the event.
The recognition honors his career as a patron, cultural promoter and researcher. The board of directors of the AEPE, an entity founded in 1910, unanimously agreed to grant him the title at its meeting on September 17, 2026, as reported by the Villa del Río City Council.
Donations to the Museum of Fine Arts
Among the contributions that the association has wished to highlight is the donation of 27 works of art to the Museum of Fine Arts of Córdoba, incorporated into the public collections of the Junta de Andalucía. Added to this are the deliveries to the AEPE itself: an original work by Paula Millán Alasete in 2024 and eleven works of artistic and documentary interest in 2025.
The association also underscores his work at the head of municipal Culture, with the incorporation of artistic collections into public collections, the recovery of works and documentation by creators such as Luis Cañadas, Ginés Liébana, Francisco Nieva, Pedro Bueno, Beppo, Abdul, Alcorlo and Alcain, and the promotion of museum and exhibition spaces. The organization of the "Pedro Bueno" National Painting Competition maintains an institutional link with the AEPE.
The diploma and the plaque were presented by the president of the association, José Gabriel Astudillo López. The mayor of Villa del Río, Jesús Morales Molina, who is also responsible for the municipality's Culture area, attended the event. The secretary general of the AEPE, M.ª Dolores Barreda Pérez, read out the appointment agreement.
The 93rd Autumn Salon, within whose framework the gala was held, has been distinguished this year with the Culture Award of the Community of Madrid in the Plastic Arts category.
