Classic cars and ham cutters come together in Lucena for the TEA classroom

La Caseta Municipal hosts a gathering of 130 classic cars and a charity ham-cutting competition on Sunday, November 8.

The Caseta Municipal de Lucena will be the meeting point on Sunday, November 8, for two events that share a common goal: the II Concentración de Vehículos Clásicos e Históricos Ciudad de Lucena and the III Concurso Nacional de Cortadores de Jamón. The proceeds from both will go to the TEA classroom at CEIP Virgen del Valle. Cars more than 25 years old are the stars of the gathering, which expects around 130 vehicles and more than 200 participants from different parts of Andalucía. Reception and registration will take place from 8:30 to 10:00, with breakfast for attendees. At midday, at 12:00, a route of about 20 kilometres will set off and end at the Santuario de la Virgen de Araceli; afterwards, the return to the Caseta Municipal, where there will be a charity bar and activities.

Ten cutters out of 22 applications

The cutters' competition will bring together ten professionals from all over Spain, chosen from the 22 applications received. The test will run from 12:00 to 14:15 and will be judged by a panel of five members from different Andalusian provinces. The sliced ham will be put on sale and the money will go entirely to the TEA classroom. The contest counts towards the final of the 2027 Campeonato de España, which will be held in Mérida. Both activities will close with a joint presentation of prizes and diplomas. Organised by the Automóvil Club Sierra de Aras, Brothers Classic Blues de Málaga and La Granja de Josele, with the support of the Ayuntamiento de Lucena. The councillor for Presidencia, Francis Aguilar, has encouraged the public to take part in activities that, he noted, share the Caseta Municipal as a meeting point.
