The Escuela de Joyería de Córdoba, attached to the Servicio Andaluz de Empleo (SAE) and recognised as a Centro de Referencia Nacional (CRN) de Joyería y Orfebrería, is taking part for the third time in MadridJoya with its own stand under the name «Arte & Talento».

A space to showcase the work of students

The stand covers more than 200 square metres and is conceived as a meeting point for training centres, associations, professionals, companies and entrepreneurs. It includes an area dedicated to the work of students and former students, as well as a space for meetings and presentations. The National Meeting of Jewellery Training Centres will be held in that space on Saturday, September 26.

More than thirty years of history

The Regional Minister for Employment, Enterprise and Self-Employment, Rocío Blanco, visited the Andalusian stands at the fair and highlighted the role of the School in training professionals for the sector. According to her, the School has more than thirty years of history and has trained numerous professionals who now work in the jewellery sector. Blanco also stressed the work of the CRN in incorporating new technologies, modernising processes and transferring knowledge to workshops and companies. «Training must listen to companies and anticipate the profiles they will need. That is the model we promote in Andalusia: training that leaves the classroom, knows the real processes and opens up employment opportunities,» said the regional minister.

Córdoba, a prominent weight in the sector

Of the twenty-three Andalusian firms present at this edition of MadridJoya, twenty come from Córdoba, a province that concentrates a prominent share of national jewellery production. According to data provided by the Regional Ministry, the sector brings together more than a thousand companies in the province and generates some fifteen thousand direct and indirect jobs. Blanco added that work is being done together with companies and professionals to update training and make it easier for knowledge to reach the productive fabric. During the visit, the regional minister thanked Ifema for its collaboration with the School, acknowledged the work of the CRN de Joyería y Orfebrería team, greeted the representation of the Ayuntamiento de Córdoba and Rosa Tous, corporate vice-president of Tous, a firm that has collaborated with the centre in previous years.
