The Subbética receives the Córdoba Tourism Merit Award 2026

The Mancomunidad de la Subbética has been honoured in the non-profit organisation category during the XII Gala de Turismo de Córdoba, held on Tuesday at the Patio Barroco de la Diputación.

The Mancomunidad de la Subbética received on Tuesday the Córdoba 2026 Tourism Merit Recognition, in the non-profit organisation category, during the XII Córdoba Tourism Gala, held in the Patio Barroco of the Diputación. The award, granted by the Patronato Provincial de Turismo, recognises the trajectory of the comarca entity and its tourism model based on ecotourism, sustainability and the enhancement of the natural, cultural and landscape resources of the comarca. The president of the Diputación de Córdoba, Salvador Fuentes, highlighted during the event the work carried out by the Mancomunidad through cooperation between the municipalities of the comarca. Fuentes also noted the need to continue promoting inland tourism and to turn the territory's resources into tourism experiences capable of generating economic activity. The recognition comes after several years of developing projects aimed at diversifying the comarca's tourism offer. These include actions linked to the Plan de Sostenibilidad Turística en Destino, with initiatives related to geological and ethnographic heritage, the olive grove and olive oil, astrotourism and experiences linked to the rural environment. The president of the Mancomunidad de la Subbética, Juan Ramón Valdivia, attributed the recognition to the joint work of the fourteen municipalities of the comarca, as well as of the companies and professionals linked to the tourism sector.

Another recognition for the comarca

The distinction adds to another recognition related to the tourism activity of the Subbética. Catalina Molina, tourism officer at the Mancomunidad, has been selected among the «50 Visionarios del Patrimonio» of Córdoba 2026, an initiative of the Cátedra de Turismo Patrimonial y Cultural de Córdoba that distinguishes profiles linked to the management and promotion of the province's heritage and cultural tourism.
