Forty photographs of the Semana Santa of Córdoba can be seen at the Museo Nacional de Arte de Guatemala (MUNAG), in Antigua Guatemala, within the exhibition "Córdoba y Antigua Guatemala: La Pasión hecha luz". The show, which covers some of the main milestones of the Semana Santa in Córdoba, can be visited until October 31. The images have been taken by members of Fococor. The exhibition is curated by María José Escribano Nieto and Sarai Herrera Pérez, arts officer of the Agrupación de Hermandades y Cofradías de Córdoba, the organization that has presented the initiative in Guatemala.

External projection of the brotherhood heritage

The Agrupación explains that the show is part of its strategy to promote recognition of the Semana Santa of Córdoba as a celebration of international tourist interest. It states that the presence at the MUNAG will allow visitors, tourism professionals, institutional representatives and Guatemalan citizens to learn about part of Córdoba's heritage. One of the objectives that the organization attributes to the project is to foster the external projection of the professionals and artisans linked to sacred art, as well as to give visibility to the work behind the images, the processional objects, the goldwork, the embroidery and the imagery. The project has the funding of the Instituto Guatemalteco de Turismo (INGUAT), a body of the Government of Guatemala, and the collaboration of the Consejería de Turismo, Justicia, Desregulación y Administración Local of the Junta de Andalucía. The exhibition can be visited at the MUNAG, in Antigua Guatemala, until October 31.
