Cajasol Coto Córdoba CB presented its 2026/27 season after achieving, last May, promotion to Primera FEB, the second category of Spanish basketball. The club sealed promotion on May 3, 2026, in a home match against Amics Castelló, after being crowned champion of the Grupo Oeste of Segunda FEB. With this, Córdoba has a team in this category again after twenty-four years.

The club was born on June 14, 2022, from the merger of two entities of Cordoban basketball, Virgen del Carmen and Ciudad de Córdoba. Since then it has moved up in category continuously: in 2023 it reached Liga EBA, in May 2024 it was promoted to Segunda FEB, and during the 2024/25 season it consolidated itself in that category, before making the leap to Primera FEB this year.

The project is not limited to the men's first team. In 2025 the senior women's team, Fundación Cajasol Córdoba, joined, competing in Primera Nacional. This season its coach is Eduardo Pérez and the club's stated goal is to fight for play-off spots.

At the presentation event, held on September 16, the president of the Diputación de Córdoba, Salvador Fuentes, and the delegate of Deportes y Protección Civil of the institution, Antonio Martín, took part. According to the note sent by the Diputación de Córdoba, Fuentes highlighted the club's work in achieving promotion in about four years and pointed out that the challenge now is to consolidate itself in Primera FEB.

Fuentes also mentioned active Cordoban players, such as Guillermo del Pino, who this season will play in the United States university league, and Pablo Tamba, a player from Puente Genil who, after returning from the United States, will play this season in Liga ACB with Manresa.

Deportes Department budget

The president of the Diputación stated that the budget of the Área de Deportes for 2026 has increased by 8.22 percent, reaching 4,497,630 euros, close to four and a half million euros. According to Fuentes, these resources are used to support clubs in the municipalities, maintain the Red de Deporte Local, and enable children and young people in the province to train and compete regardless of their place of residence.
