The Diputación de Córdoba hosts from September 1 to 11 the exhibition «Eterna Merced: 50 años de historia, arte y devoción», organized on the occasion of the blessing of Santa María de la Merced of the Parroquia de San Antonio de Padua.

The exhibition is displayed at the Palacio de la Merced, headquarters of the provincial institution, a building that for centuries was a Mercedarian convent. According to the Diputación, the exhibition brings together photographs, documents and pieces related to the hermandad, linked since its origins to the Parroquia de San Antonio de Padua.

The president of the Diputación, Salvador Fuentes, has highlighted that the content of the exhibition is not limited to the evolution of the hermandad during these fifty years, but also reflects what the city of Córdoba was like when the hermandad began its journey.

Fuentes has also pointed out this hermandad's link to the figure of Fray Albino, whom he has described as a person who worked to improve the living conditions of Cordoban families of his time.

The president of the provincial institution has added that the history of the Merced is, in his words, «a cofrade history, but also a small history of Córdoba», that speaks of work, of the neighborhoods and of a devotion that kept growing over the years.

Fuentes has also noted that the Diputación maintains a commitment to the preservation and dissemination of the history of the province and the city, including the memory of local hermandades and associations.
