Zuheros celebrates the XXIII Feria del Queso from 17 to 20 September
The Paseo de la Constitución will host 23 stalls with more than sixty varieties of artisan cheese, in a fair organised by the Ayuntamiento with the collaboration of the quesería Los Balanchares.

Zuheros celebrates from Thursday 17 to Sunday 20 September the twenty-third edition of the Feria del Queso, which will take place at the Paseo de la Constitución. It is organized by the Ayuntamiento de the town, with the collaboration of the quesería Los Balanchares, and has the support of the Diputación de Córdoba.
The fair will bring together 23 stalls where more than sixty different types of cheese can be found, coming from small artisan industries, according to the manager of Los Balanchares, Juan de Dios Serrano. Serrano has pointed out that these industries «have an important effect on the territory since they anchor the population and the farmers and where traditional recipes are made that we maintain and preserve».
The mayor of Zuheros, Juan Manuel Poyato, has indicated that the event attracts more than fifteen thousand visitors over the three days of celebration and that its economic impact also reaches other towns in the Subbética cordobesa. To facilitate the flow of visitors, the Ayuntamiento has provided more than 110 new parking spaces, financed with the Plan de Sostenibilidad Turística en Destino.
The delegate for Desarrollo Económico, Promoción y Empleo of the Diputación, Félix Romero, has highlighted that the fair places artisan cheese at the center of the gastronomic and tourist promotion of Zuheros, a municipality declared Municipio Turístico de Andalucía. Romero has also recalled that, according to the note sent by the Diputación de Córdoba, in November the city of Córdoba will host the World Cheese Awards, an international competition dedicated to cheese.
