Nélson Monte is presented as the new defender of Córdoba CF
The Portuguese centre-back, who joined the club in the final hours of the transfer market, says he feels identified with Iván Ania's style of play and offers himself as a reference in the dressing room.

Defender Nélson Monte has been presented as a new player of Córdoba Club de Fútbol (CF). According to the statement issued by the club, his signing was finalized in the last hours of the transfer window, after weighing the proposal together with his family.
"It was crazy, but because of the size and history of the club I decided to take the step. I come with the greatest enthusiasm to help the team," the player stated.
The Portuguese footballer can play on both the right and left sides of central defense, positions he has already occupied throughout his career in Portugal and during his spells at Málaga and Almería.
Regarding his role in the locker room, Nélson Monte described himself as an "older brother," willing to contribute the experience gained throughout his career and to convey calm in the most difficult moments.
The defender said he felt identified with coach Iván Ania's footballing approach, based on a high defensive line, playing out from the back, and pressing. He claimed to be familiar with that style of play and valued the challenge of competing at Nuevo Arcángel, the stadium the statement refers to as Bahrain Victorious Nuevo Arcángel.
"We players like that good kind of pressure," the player said, referring to the demands of the cordobesista stadium.
The center-back also highlighted the quality and ambition he perceives in the squad to compete in LaLiga Hypermotion.
