The Centro de Creación Contemporánea de Andalucía (C3A) hosts the exhibition 'The Tarantula's Bite: South and Folklore', curated by Lluís Alexandre Casanovas Blanco, which explores the currency of the thought of Italian anthropologist Ernesto de Martino and its relationship with contemporary artistic creation produced from the south.

The show starts from De Martino's research in southern Italy in the fifties and focuses on the study of tarantism, gathering medical files and treatises on cases in the Iberian peninsula. The original materials are placed in dialogue with films, photographs, documents and contemporary works by artists such as María Alcaide, María Rosa Aránega, Mateo Chica and Manuel Zapata Vázquez.

It can be visited in room T4 of the C3A, under the Consejería de Cultura, Patrimonio Histórico y Deporte.
