The Facultad de Filosofía y Letras of the Universidad de Córdoba hosts the XII Congress of the Asociación Ibérica de Estudios de Traducción e Interpretación (AIETI), under the motto "Esta voz que te escribe. La metamorfosis de la traducción y la interpretación". The event has brought together 250 specialists from Spain, Portugal and other European countries, and was opened by the dean of the Facultad, Javier Martín Párraga, and the secretary of AIETI, M. Carmen Balbuena Torezano.
After the opening lecture by professor Carlos Fortea Gil (Universidad Complutense de Madrid), the papers have been distributed into seven parallel panels on translation of humanistic texts, Undergraduate and Graduate training, new research perspectives in translation studies, Specialized Translation, Terminology, Interpretation, professional practice and applied technologies, including the role of Artificial Intelligence. Professor Noa Talaván Zanón (UNED) has given a plenary lecture on audiovisual translation, mediation and translator training.
The last day will begin with the AIETI Assembly, at which the new Junta Directiva will be elected: the outgoing president, José Tomás Conde Ruano, will hand over the position to UCO professor M. Carmen Balbuena Torezano, who will hold it for two years. The congress will conclude with a plenary lecture by Universidad de Salamanca researcher Margarita Savchenkova.
