The association Camino de Sonrisas presents itself in Montilla with the aim of promoting the inclusion of people in situations of vulnerability and people with disabilities. The launch will be on Thursday, October 29, at 20:00, at the Castillo de Montilla, at an event with speeches by people linked to social projects and testimonies of personal overcoming.
Activities before the Camino
The project's ultimate goal is to do the Camino de Santiago as a group. Before that, the association proposes breakfasts, short routes around Montilla, excursions and visits to concerts. According to the organization, these experiences allow participants to build bonds and prepare progressively to face the challenge with the necessary support.
Collaboration of organizations
The founder of the association, José Manuel Pino, has stated that the project has the collaboration of professionals and social organizations to accompany the participants. Among the organizations with which contacts are being established are Futuro Singular, Fundación Social Universal and Mamá Margarita. Specialized support and adapted resources are also expected.
How to collaborate
The association seeks to bring together companies, organizations and volunteers who contribute to the development of the activities, both through financial contributions and with resources and direct collaboration. Its promoters aspire for the initiative to be extended to other municipalities.
The councillor for Economic Development, Valeriano Rosales, has highlighted the value of this citizen initiative, which brings together people with different realities around solidarity and mutual aid. The Ayuntamiento de Montilla collaborates in the presentation.
Anyone who wants to learn about the project and the ways to collaborate can attend the event on Thursday, October 29, at 20:00, at the Castillo de Montilla.
