World Wine Tourism Day faces its last weekend in the province of Córdoba. The programme organised by the Ruta del Vino Montilla-Moriles, which began on October 31, runs until Sunday, November 8, with tastings, visits to wineries and lagares, vineyard tours and cultural activities spread across different municipalities of the Denominación de Origen Montilla-Moriles. For Saturday, November 7 and Sunday, November 8 there are proposals such as Montilla Xperience, with tastings, guided visits and wine tastings at the Paseo de las Mercedes; a train tour through the vineyards of Moriles Altos with a tasting at the foot of the vineyard; an international wine experience at the Lagar Los Raigones and a meditation and tasting proposal at Bodegas Robles. On Sunday, the II Ruta Enociclista de Baena, a visit to the Villa Romana de Fuente Álamo and Bodegas Delgado in Puente Genil and an experience combining heritage and wine at the Castillo Ducal de Espejo are added. The offer is completed with visits to wineries and food proposals in other municipalities of the region. The activities have different schedules, prices and participation conditions, and some require prior booking. The full programme and the information to register are available at the Turismo y Vino website. The territorial delegate for Tourism, Justice, Deregulation and Local Administration of the Junta de Andalucía in Córdoba, Alejandro Hernández, has pointed out during the presentation that wine tourism allows extending the stay of those who visit Córdoba and bringing them closer to other municipalities of the province. «Our challenge is to ensure that those who come to discover Córdoba also discover its province», he stated. The vice-president of the Ruta del Vino Montilla-Moriles and mayor of Moriles, Francisca Carmona, has explained that the programme seeks to make the municipalities of the route known through wine as a common thread and has invited the public to participate. The manager of the Consejo Regulador de la Denominación de Origen Protegida Montilla-Moriles, Enrique Garrido, and the head of Wine Tourism at the Lagar Los Raigones, Ángela Jiménez, also took part in the presentation.
