Fuente Palmera de Boda celebrates its nineteenth edition from Thursday, October 1 to Sunday, October 4 in the area around the Plaza Real and the town's Open Shopping Centre. The fair, promoted by the Asociación Empresarial de la Colonia de Fuente Palmera with the support of the Instituto Provincial de Desarrollo Económico (Iprodeco) of the Diputación de Córdoba, will bring together a total of 33 companies related to bridal fashion, photography, video, experiences, accommodation, travel, home, accessories, jewellery, events, training, design and gastronomy, as detailed by the president of the business association, Manuel Jesús Adame.
Fair programme
The programme includes the institutional opening, the 10th Fuente Palmera de Boda Young Designers Competition and professional fashion shows by the participating firms, as explained by the provincial delegate for Economic Development, Promotion and Employment, Félix Romero. The competition, which will open the catwalk, will bring together fifteen young finalists.
This edition also adds a new training award in collaboration with La Mariposa de Hilo aimed at talent in pattern-making and garment-making. As Adame explained, it includes a specialised training scholarship, an intensive 60-hour dressmaking course, three personalised mentoring sessions and actions to promote professional work.
Guest of honour and economic weight of the sector
The fair will have designer Beatriz Peñalver as guest of honour, as noted by the deputy mayor of the Fuente Palmera Town Council, Sonia Rovira.
According to the organisers, the bridal sector generates around fifteen million euros in annual turnover and involves close to 300 direct jobs in the town, known as «El Pueblo de las Novias». Romero also noted that the fair is aligned with the provincial strategy «Córdoba de Moda».
The poster for this edition has been designed by Eva Vega.
