Montilla is celebrating these days the eighth edition of its Film Festival, which runs from October 13 to 17 in different venues across the city and which this year screens 15 short films selected from among the 449 submitted. All the selected works are nationally produced.

Film and wine, in wineries

The festival keeps the "5 shorts + 5 wines" format as its core and combines the screenings with the wine experience in a setting of vineyards and wineries. The Academia de Cine de Andalucía accompanies the opening of this edition, which has the participation of professionals from the audiovisual sector. The festival director, Dany Ruz, has recalled that the initiative began in 2018 and has noted that reaching the eighth edition consolidates a proposal that brings together two seemingly different fields. The mayor of Montilla, Rafael Llamas, has stressed that the festival will have a special role in the programming linked to Montilla's designation as Ciudad Española del Vino 2027.

Participation of actors and directors

The actor and presenter Andrés Berlanga, a regular collaborator of the event, has highlighted the collective work behind the organization. The actor Juan Carlos Villanueva and the director and producer Bernabé Rico have also taken part; Rico presented his short film Cosas de niños, a comedy that addresses tolerance.

To attend

The screenings are spread between October 13 and 17 in different venues across the city, with the "5 shorts + 5 wines" format as the core of the programme.
