ASAJA, COAG and Unión de Uniones bring a farmers' tractor protest to Madrid on October 28
The three agricultural organizations have called a tractor protest for Wednesday, October 28, which will end in front of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, with the aim of demanding answers to the sector's problems.
The agricultural organizations ASAJA, COAG and Unión de Uniones de Agricultores y Ganaderos have called a tractor protest in Madrid for Wednesday, October 28. The mobilization will conclude in front of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA), according to the three organizing entities.
What they are demanding
The organizations explain that they have joined forces to demand urgent answers to the problems the countryside is carrying and that, in their view, continue to worsen. They point out that producing costs more every day and that the prices farmers and livestock breeders receive do not allow, in many cases, covering expenses: filling the tractor's tank, buying fertilizers, feeding the livestock or paying the electricity bill.
A call announced in October
The call had already been made public on October 9, when the three organizations agreed to join forces and set the date of October 28 for the mobilization, which will end in front of the ministry's headquarters.
Who it affects
The protest affects the agricultural sector as a whole, in particular farmers and livestock breeders who denounce that production costs exceed the income they obtain from their products. The tractor protest is presented as a joint action by the three entities to convey their demands to the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.
What you need to know
The appointment is on Wednesday, October 28 and ends in front of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, in Madrid. The call is signed by ASAJA, COAG and Unión de Uniones de Agricultores y Ganaderos.
