Four establishments compete with their hot dogs at Glücksland

The second edition of Glücksland, in San Sebastián de los Ballesteros, includes the Hotdog-Wettbewerb: from October 23 to 25, each of the four participating establishments will offer its own version of the hot dog to those who visit the event.

The hot dog contest, called Hotdog-Wettbewerb, is held over the three days of Glücksland, from Friday, October 23 to Sunday, October 25, in San Sebastián de los Ballesteros. Four establishments take part, and each presents a different creation with which it seeks the favor of those who attend the event that weekend.

A contest within the festival

The proposal is part of the second edition of «Glücksland: sabor y herencia colona», an event dedicated to German gastronomy and the legacy of the Nuevas Poblaciones. The contest thus joins the other activities planned over the three days.

Background on the event

The portal reported on October 17 that Glücksland is held from October 23 to 25 with miller's breakfasts, workshops, tastings and a theatrical performance by residents about the arrival of the settlers. The organization is by the town's Ayuntamiento, with the support of the Instituto Provincial de Desarrollo Económico (Iprodeco) of the Diputación de Córdoba. The program also includes the presentation of La Carolina as guest municipality, an exhibition of typical German dances and Oktoberfest-inspired music. On October 15, the Ayuntamiento unveiled the poster and program of this second edition, which includes musical performances, workshops, contests, exhibitions, food tastings, showcooking, guided tourist routes and stands of local products. Among the featured proposals is the theatrical performance «San Sebastián de los Ballesteros. Historia de un pueblo carolino», focused on the origins of the municipality.
