The Nazareno of Santaella will hold an extraordinary procession on Saturday, September 26
The brotherhood celebrates the centenary of its reorganization with a procession of Ntro. Padre Jesús Nazareno and the Virgen de la Esperanza through the streets of the town, within its Tiempo Jubilar.

The brotherhood of Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno, Santo Entierro y Virgen de la Esperanza of Santaella is celebrating the centenary of its reorganization this year. On the occasion of this anniversary, the Penitenciaría Apostólica granted it the plenary indulgence, which has given rise to a Tiempo Jubilar that began on March 1 and will close on December 20, 2026.
Within this period, the brotherhood has organized an extraordinary procession of the images of Ntro. Padre Jesús Nazareno and the Virgen de la Esperanza through the streets of Santaella, scheduled for Saturday, September 26.
According to the route provided by the brotherhood, the procession will leave at 19:30 hours from the parish of Ntra. Sra. de la Asunción and will go through calle Iglesia, the Arco de la Villa, the Plaza Mayor, calle Corredera, calle Arenal, calle Posadas, calle Villargallegos, again calles Arenal and Corredera, the Plaza Mayor, calle Médico Alijo, San Antonio, calle Nueva, the Llano de la Estrella and calle Capitán Gualberto, before returning to the parish of Ntra. Sra. de la Asunción, where it is expected to enter at 23:30 hours.
Activities of the Tiempo Jubilar
According to the brotherhood, throughout the Tiempo Jubilar pilgrimages of brotherhoods from Santaella and other towns have been held, as well as various acts of worship. For the first time in the history of the brotherhood, the procession of Ntro. Padre Jesús Nazareno was also carried out in the aldea of El Fontanar.
Among the activities already carried out are also the presentation of the Medalla de Oro of the brotherhood to the patron saint of Santaella, Ntra. Sra. del Valle, and the publication and presentation of the book «100 Años más de Pasión a Jesús Nazareno en Santaella».
The brotherhood notes that, until the closing of the Tiempo Jubilar on December 20, the next notable event will be the procession of the Nazareno in La Montiela. The closing mass is expected to be presided over by the vicar general of the diocese, Antonio Morales.
