The Mezquita-Catedral hosts an exhibition on the legacy of San Francisco
The exhibition, open since September 16 in the Almanzor extension, brings together paintings, sculptures and metalwork on the mark left by the Franciscan order in the Diócesis de Córdoba, until October 25.

The Mezquita-Catedral de Córdoba has been hosting since Tuesday, September 16 the exhibition «El Señor me dio... El legado de San Francisco en la Diócesis de Córdoba», which can be visited until Sunday, October 25, 2026, in the Almanzor extension.
The exhibition is part of the events of the VIII Centenary of the Tránsito de San Francisco de Asís, commemorated this year, and has been promoted by the Cabildo Catedral de Córdoba together with the Familia Franciscana de la Diócesis.
The tour takes the saint's testament as its guiding thread and brings together paintings, sculptures, goldwork pieces and devotional objects that show, according to the organizers, the influence of the Franciscan order on the local Church. The exhibition has been curated by Alfonso M. Muñoz Rodríguez, a graduate in History of Art with a master's degree in Museology.
The pieces come from loans by the Cabildo Catedral itself, the Parroquia de San Francisco y San Eulogio de Córdoba, and several convents of the Clarisas, Capuchinas, Concepcionistas and Hermanos Menores orders, as well as brotherhoods from Córdoba capital, Belalcázar, Montilla, Lucena, Bujalance and Sevilla.
The Diputación Provincial de Córdoba is the main sponsor of the project and, according to the statement issued by the Cabildo de la Mezquita-Catedral, covers the costs of insurance, transport, printing and installation. The institution will also publish a commemorative catalogue of the exhibition once it has finished.
