EMACSA awards the maintenance of its gardens to a special employment centre
The Empresa Municipal de Aguas de Córdoba (EMACSA) has approved the award of the gardening service for its facilities to Servicios Integrales de Fincas de Andalucía SL, a social-initiative special employment centre, for a period of three years.
The Board of Directors of EMACSA has approved the award proposal for the gardening service of its facilities to Servicios Integrales de Fincas de Andalucía SL, a social-initiative special employment centre, for a period of three years. The municipal water company has processed the contract through a procedure reserved for this type of entity, so holding that status was an essential requirement to be able to take part in the tender.
Two work lots
The award is divided into two lots. The first covers the gardening service for the production facilities, the related premises and the EMACSA head offices. The second corresponds to the treatment facilities.
The final award is subject to the submission and verification of the documentation required in the contracting procedure.
What a special employment centre is
As EMACSA explains, social-initiative special employment centres are entities that promote the labour integration of people with disabilities and that must meet the requirements established in current legislation. By reserving the contract for this type of entity, the municipal company limits the tender to organisations with that social purpose.
A public company from 1969
EMACSA (Empresa Municipal de Aguas de Córdoba, S.A.) is a public company owned by the Ayuntamiento de Córdoba, founded in 1969, whose aim is to supply drinking water to businesses and the population of Córdoba and to manage the sewerage network, according to the information available about the entity.
The contract
The awarded service lasts three years and is divided into the two aforementioned lots. Formalisation is pending verification of the documentation required in the contracting procedure.
