The Hornachuelos Town Council has approved the rules for a pool of employment for multi-service officers, intended to cover temporary staffing needs such as sick leave, holidays or paternity leave. The rules were approved by a Mayoral resolution on October 2 and have been published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Córdoba on Tuesday, October 20, 2026.

What the exam is like

The process is resolved through a competitive examination. The examination is a multiple-choice theoretical-practical test of 60 questions, with a maximum of 60 points and 60 minutes to complete it. At least 30 points must be achieved to pass it, and incorrect or blank answers do not deduct points. Those who pass this phase go on to the assessment of merits, with a maximum of 40 points, in which training related to the post and professional experience are taken into account. Among the training subjects assessed are construction, occupational risk prevention, plumbing and electricity.

Requirements and application

To take part, applicants must be at least 16 years old, have the functional capacity to perform the tasks and hold the Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO) certificate or equivalent. The rules also set out the general conditions for access to public employment. Applications are submitted electronically through the electronic office of the Hornachuelos Town Council, using the official form and one of the accepted electronic identification systems. The deadline is twenty working days from the day after publication in the Provincial Official Gazette. A copy of the DNI, proof of qualifications, proof of payment of the examination fees and documentation on the employment history and the merits claimed must be provided. The fee is 22 euros, although the document itself contains a discrepancy in its written form, so it is advisable to check the official call before paying.

How the pool works

The pool is rotating and remains in force until a new selection process replaces, updates or modifies it. When there is a hiring need, the applicant in the first position is called, in order. Rejecting an offer without justification means permanent removal from the pool, according to the conditions of the rules. The Council explains that with this call it has a selection mechanism to respond to temporary staffing needs and guarantee the continuity of municipal multi-service tasks. The full rules can be consulted in the Official Gazette of the Province of Córdoba and on the Town Council's electronic office.
