Companies and institutions in the province that wish to host students on internships can now express their interest. This Tuesday, October 20, the application period has opened to take part in the new call of the External Academic Internship Program, promoted by the University of Córdoba (UCO) and the Diputación, as both institutions have reported. The next edition, scheduled for the 2026-2027 academic year, will offer 70 grants of four months and financial support of 600 euros per month for students. The program aims to ease the transition from university to the labor market and to help participants gain professional skills through direct experience in public and private companies and institutions.

Welcoming of students and companies

The University and the Diputación welcomed this Tuesday morning the students and the representatives of the companies taking part in the program. The event was attended by the president of the Diputación, Salvador Fuentes; the provincial institution's delegate for Economic Development, Promotion and Employment, Félix Romero; and the UCO's general director of Employability and Entrepreneurship, Manuel Cruz. Cruz noted that the program "has a value that goes beyond simple financial support" and represents an opportunity both for the students, who are taking their first steps, and for the companies, which can discover young talent and bring in new profiles.

Two lines of collaboration

The program is part of an agreement signed between the Diputación and the UCO in 2025, which is structured around two lines. The first is these internships; the second is Empléate con la Diputación de Córdoba, an employment support service that includes individualized job guidance, a job portal website and free online employability workshops. Fuentes stated that the initiative makes it possible to establish a line of collaboration to improve the employability of young university students and bring talent closer to the province's business fabric. Romero described the partnership between the two institutions as "the perfect tandem".

How to take part

Companies and institutions interested in hosting students in the next edition must express their interest starting this Tuesday, October 20, when the application period for the 2026-2027 academic year opens.
