The accident occurred on the night of Tuesday, October 20, at around 22.10 hours, when the 1-1-2 room received a distress call for a car that had left the road on the A-424, in the municipality of Pozoblanco and heading towards Villanueva. Two people were trapped inside the vehicle.

The 1-1-2 is the single emergency telephone number for Andalusia and depends on the Agencia de Emergencias de Andalucía, attached to the Consejería de Presidencia, Sanidad y Emergencias of the Junta. It is the service that receives distress calls and coordinates the different bodies involved in each alert.

In the event of any accident or risk situation on the road, the emergency telephone number is 1-1-2, which activates the health services, the firefighters and the Guardia Civil de Tráfico according to what each case requires.
