The Diputación de Córdoba completed this Friday the transfer of almost all of the allocations of the Plan Diputación Invierte 2026, endowed with 20.6 million euros, according to the president of the institution, Salvador Fuentes.

The plan will finance a total of 784 actions distributed among 76 ayuntamientos, four entidades locales autónomas (ELA) and ten mancomunidades of the province. According to Fuentes, the plan seeks to strengthen municipal public services and address the repair of infrastructure affected by the storm system that hit the province at the beginning of the year.

The plan was unblocked on March 25, when the Diputación's budget, presented by the Grupo Popular, was approved following an agreement with IU. Fuentes has pointed out that, «despite the delay this year in its approval», the provincial Tesorería has managed to bring forward the effective payment by five days compared to the previous year.

The funded projects will have an execution period of 18 months, from January 2026 until June 30, 2027.

Distribution by areas

The 784 actions are distributed across five spending areas. The largest allocation corresponds to basic public services, with 8,056,013.98 euros for 275 projects on sewage systems, water, urban solid waste, cleaning, environment or security.

This is followed by the area of preferred public goods, with 7,690,257.55 euros for 319 initiatives in sports facilities, heritage protection, culture and education.

Actions of an economic nature receive 2,068,189.23 euros for 79 projects, including tourism promotion actions, repair of municipal roads, business development and commerce, as detailed by the president.

The general actions axis brings together 90 projects with an allocation of 1,871,002.02 euros, while social protection and promotion finances 31 projects with a budget of 910,178.02 euros.

Fuentes has also highlighted that, since 2024, investment spending has increased by twelve percentage points and that available credit has grown by 26.4% between 2023 and 2026, going from 16.3 to 20.6 million euros. The president has attributed this progress to the collaboration with the mayors of the province and with the Diputación's Economic Assistance service.
