ACdP presents two books in Córdoba on Christian heritage and the Mozarabs

The Catholic Association of Propagandists (ACdP) of Córdoba and Almuzara publishing house organize the presentation of two works on the city's Christian history. The events will be on Thursday, October 22 and Monday, October 26, at 19:30, at the Centro Cultural José Luis García Palacios.

The Catholic Association of Propagandists (ACdP) of Córdoba, in collaboration with the publisher Almuzara, has organized the presentation of two books on the history of Córdoba, its religious heritage and the Christian presence over the centuries. Both events are free to attend and are held at the Centro Cultural José Luis García Palacios, of the Fundación Caja Rural del Sur, located on avenida de la Libertad, at the corner of Llanos del Pretorio.

The Church of the Oath of San Rafael

The first presentation will be on Thursday, October 22 at 19:30. It is «La Iglesia del Juramento de San Rafael y la Córdoba de su tiempo (1652-2025)», by Enrique Garrido Montero, historian, doctor from the Universidad de Sevilla and specialist in Andalusian artistic and documentary heritage. The work studies the history of this temple and its link with the historical, artistic and religious evolution of the city, and delves into the devotion to the Custodian of Córdoba and the mark it has left on the collective identity.

The Mozarabs under Umayyad rule

On Monday, October 26, also at 19:30, the presentation of «Historia de los Mozárabes en Córdoba. Mártires cristianos bajo el dominio Omeya» is scheduled, by its author, Rafael Sánchez Saus, professor of Medieval History at the Universidad de Cádiz and honorary rector of the Universidad CEU San Pablo. The book addresses the experience of the Mozarab Christian communities under Umayyad rule and the testimony of those who kept their faith in difficult circumstances.

Collaboration of the Fundación Caja Rural del Sur

The ACdP of Córdoba thanks the Fundación Caja Rural del Sur for its collaboration in providing its facilities for these cultural gatherings. The association states that with these initiatives it maintains its commitment to the promotion of culture and historical knowledge, and to fostering spaces for meeting and reflection on the Christian roots that are part of the identity of Córdoba.

Both presentations are held at the Centro Cultural José Luis García Palacios, of the Fundación Caja Rural del Sur, on avenida de la Libertad, at the corner of Llanos del Pretorio, in Córdoba. The first is on Thursday, October 22 at 19:30 and the second on Monday, October 26 at 19:30.
