The fifth Doña Mencía Ecotourism Fair holds its closing day this Sunday, October 18, at the Bodegas Municipales Crismona, on calle La Molinera, where companies, associations, producers, artisans and visitors have gathered over the weekend around the natural, heritage and gastronomic resources of the Subbética cordobesa.

Olive grove, olive-oil tourism and livestock farming

The programme includes the second Sustainable Agriculture Conference, focused on the olive grove, olive-oil tourism and extensive livestock farming, and which strengthens the link between landscape, agricultural activity, gastronomy and the tourism offer. The fair also includes adapted hiking routes to facilitate access to the natural heritage for people with different abilities. The municipality of Luque is taking part this year as the guest town, a collaboration that, according to the Delegación del Gobierno en Córdoba, highlights the importance of jointly promoting the region's tourism resources.

Bodegas Crismona, a new visitable space

One of the milestones of this edition is the recovery of the historic Bodegas Municipales Crismona, which join the municipality's visitable heritage as a space for civic, cultural and tourist activities. The tourism delegate, Alejandro Hernández, has highlighted the value of Doña Mencía as an inland tourist destination and the contribution of this type of gathering to the tourism and economic activity of rural municipalities. Hernández has stated that the fair takes place «in a privileged setting, in the very heart of the Subbética cordobesa», with resources such as the Parque Natural y Geoparque de las Sierras Subbéticas or the Vía Verde del Aceite, and has congratulated the Ayuntamiento de Doña Mencía, the collaborating associations and the participants for the organisation of this fifth edition.
