The Cordoba municipality celebrates three days of Afro-Brazilian percussion with a batucada competition, workshops, concerts and a craft market, as part of the Diputación's Singulares programme.

Rute celebrates a new edition of the Arte Samba Festival from Friday, October 23 to Sunday, October 25, a gathering that combines local tradition with samba and Brazilian reggae and that is part of the Singulares programme of the Diputación de Córdoba.

Batucadas in the street and live music

The festival includes a batucada competition that will bring percussion groups from different parts of the country together in the street. Live music will have the Teatro Al Aire Libre Alcalde Pedro Flores as its main stage, with fusion and crossover proposals, percussion bands with wind and DJ sessions during the afternoons and nights of the weekend. The line-up includes performances by Los Aslandticos, Los 300, La Mare and Trigo Sucio, among others. Workshops will also be given by professionals, including a Bloco Afro workshop led by Allison Adesida and an Afro Dance one led by Zoila Martín. In parallel, a craft market will be set up.

For the visitor

The first deputy mayor of Rute, Rafael García, points out that for three days the municipality becomes a great sambadrome and adds that the event is an attraction for those who want to come and get to know the municipality. The Culture delegate of the Diputación, Gabriel Duque, considers that the proposal enriches the leisure agenda of the Subbética and acts as a driver of tourist attraction and economic dynamism for Rute.
