The Holy Week of Córdoba will have a presence in Guatemala starting this month. The Agrupación de Hermandades y Cofradías de Córdoba has announced at the II Feria Cofrade de España e Iberoamérica the photographic exhibition "La Pasión hecha luz", which will open on Thursday, October 29 at the Museo Nacional de Arte de Guatemala (MUNAG) and can be visited there until November 30.

Forty photographs by Córdoba authors

The exhibition brings together forty photographs by members of Fococor and offers a visual journey through some of the main milestones of Córdoba's Holy Week. The project is curated by María José Escribano and Sarai Herrera, and the design and exhibition production are by the Guatemalan company Publidesign. The exhibition is organized by the Agrupación de Hermandades y Cofradías de Córdoba and is part of the path undertaken to move towards an international declaration for the city's Holy Week. It has the support of the Instituto Guatemalteco de Turismo (INGUAT), the tourism body of the Government of Guatemala, and of Turismo de la Junta de Andalucía.

Antigua Guatemala, setting of the exhibition

The choice of Antigua Guatemala, declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco in 1979, responds to the link between two territories with significant religious and cultural manifestations, according to the Agrupación. The presentation has been held within the framework of the II Feria Cofrade de España e Iberoamérica, which runs from this Friday, October 16 to Sunday, October 18 at the Centro de Exposiciones, Ferias y Convenciones de Córdoba (CEFC). The event, conceived as a meeting point for the cofrade world, brings together heritage, craftsmanship, tourism and business activity linked to the brotherhoods, and international projection is one of its lines of work.

Visiting the exhibition

The exhibition can be seen at the Museo Nacional de Arte de Guatemala from October 29 to November 30. The Agrupación has not detailed opening hours or access conditions.
