Almodóvar del Río celebrates throughout the whole weekend the V Encuentro para la Promoción y Difusión del Vehículo Eléctrico MOVEX Almodóvar 2026, which will bring together some 70 electric vehicles, according to the Ayuntamiento. The sessions are organized by the Asociación de Usuarios de Vehículos Eléctricos (AUVE), the Ateneo Popular and the Consistorio almodovense.

Exhibition and test drives

The event began on Friday, October 23 with the official opening in the plaza de la Constitución and an exhibition of different electric vehicle models from 12.00 to 18.00, so that anyone interested can see them and even take test drives. On Saturday, October 24, at the Espacio Joven and the Centro Intergeneracional (avenida Alcalde Manuel Alba, 2), various talks on sustainable mobility are held in the afternoon. Among the topics planned are a battery manufacturing system from agricultural waste, the reality about breakdowns and the useful life of electric cars and their relationship with renewable energies. At 20.30 a light and sound show with Tesla vehicles is planned in the surroundings of the Castillo de Almodóvar, in Las Parvas.

Electric bicycle route

As a novelty of this edition, Titan Bike Shop and AUVE organize an electric bicycle meetup on Sunday, October 25. The departure will be at 9.30 from the El Pinillo motocross circuit and will consist of a guided 50-kilometer route through La Breña and the sierra, of medium difficulty and with views of the Castillo de Almodóvar. On Sunday the activity continues at the Centro de Actividades en la Naturaleza La Breña II, with opening at 10.00, a convivial breakfast, a discussion with raffles and, at 12.30, a silent march through the town with a visit to the Covidesa almazara in Posadas.

How to take part

The interested public can sign up to ride in an electric vehicle with an owner and live the experience during the silent march on Sunday. There is guarded parking and free electric charging at the Espacio Joven and the Centro Intergeneracional. The mayor, Ramón Hernández, has stated that the Ayuntamiento is «pioneer in promoting green urban mobility», with two charging points located on calle La Barca and plaza de Medina Azahara. The AUVE Córdoba delegate, José Enrique Castilla, has explained that the meeting seeks «to bring electric mobility closer to the people of Almodóvar del Río».
