Twelve firms from the province attend Sur Wines & Gourmet in Málaga on Monday, October 26, under the 'Sabor a Córdoba' brand, with a tasting of Córdoba products and meetings with hotels and restaurants on the Costa del Sol.
Twelve agri-food companies from the province of Córdoba are taking part on Monday, October 26, in Sur Wines & Gourmet, a wine and gourmet products fair held in Málaga. Their presence is organised through the 'Sabor a Córdoba' brand, promoted by the Diputación de Córdoba through the Instituto Provincial de Desarrollo Económico (Iprodeco).
Wine, oil, cheese and sweets
The participating firms cover the wine and vinegar, extra virgin olive oil, anise and liqueurs, pastry, snacks and cheese sectors. They are Anís Machaquito, Bodegas Roquera Cabriñana, Bodegas Delgado, Bodegas Gómez Nevado, Lagar de Santa Magdalena, Lagar de los Frailes, Quesos Los Balanchares, Monteoliva, Obrador San Andrés, Patatas Fritas Maribel, Productos El Guiso and Cooperativa Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe.
The event is organised by Diario Sur and is aimed at the professional sector: according to the delegate for Economic Development, Promotion and Employment of the Diputación, Félix Romero, representatives of hotels, restaurants and establishments with a high volume of tourism are attending. The aim, he said, is for a good part of what visitors consume on the Costa del Sol to be produced in the villages of Córdoba.
A tasting with products from the province
Also on Monday, a tasting entitled 'Córdoba en tu Boca' is scheduled, combining Córdoba products from the aperitif through to lunch. It includes an oil tasting from the Cooperativa de Cabra with Guadalupe, the pairing of a wine from Bodegas Nevado with Patatas Fritas Maribel, almond tejas from Obrador San Andrés with amontillado from Bodegas Delgado, andresinas with Anís Machaquito, vermut from El Guiso with Patatas Fritas Maribel and a wine from Bodegas Cabrillana with aged organic mountain cheese from the Subbética.
Romero noted that Málaga allows «selling nearby» and, at the same time, «making ourselves known far away», and summed up the participation as «12 companies, 12 opportunities, 12 municipalities».
Background
The Málaga event comes right after the III Feria Alimentaria Sabor a Córdoba, held from Friday, October 23 to Sunday, October 25 at the Centro de Exposiciones, Ferias y Convenciones in the capital, with 63 exhibitor companies and free entry, as this portal reported on October 19. At that event the Diputación stated that the fair went from 40 companies in 2024 to 52 the following year.
