The Diputación de Córdoba brings theatre, music and workshops to 65 towns for the Day of Rural Women
The 'Tierra de Mujeres' programme includes 65 artistic performances and workshops in 65 and 58 municipalities respectively, during the last quarter of the year, coinciding with October 15.

The Diputación de Córdoba, through its Delegación de Igualdad, is launching a new edition of the cultural programme «Tierra de Mujeres», which will bring artistic performances and workshops to different municipalities of the province coinciding with the International Day of Rural Women, celebrated on October 15.
According to the delegada de Igualdad, Auxiliadora Moreno, the programme brings together theatre for all audiences, music and workshops with equality between men and women as a common thread. In this edition, 65 artistic performances have been programmed, including performing arts, children's theatre, street performances and music, which will take place in 65 municipalities of the province.
In performing arts, companies participating include A Rajatabla Teatro (with «3 de 40»), Producciones Abrazadas-Territorio Violeta («Café o Gintonic»), Imperfekta Teatro («Confesiones»), Diferentes pero Iguales («El ojo de Bululú»), Art Teatro («El buen marido-Ostrogodia»), El Patio de las Pinzas («La empoderada que no es poco»), El Perro Andalook («Historia de un amor»), Calema Producciones («La Celestina»), Arteyo Producciones («Llévame a Benidorm»), Teatro La Paca («Lorca perdida»), the company of María Hames («Sobre la cuerda floja») and Tris Tras Farándula («Una mujer contra el viento»).
For children's audiences, performances are planned by Mago Ouk with «Iguales, la leyenda», the company Niumpaloal Arte with «Morgana, la bruja de la igualdad», El Perro Andalook with an adaptation of «Petronila» and Jesús Tiracuentos with «Philippe Le magnifique».
In the musical section are the company of Matilde Cabello with «Alhamía», Laura María Larrea with «Canción española. Homenaje a la mujer rural», Teresa Jiménez with «Cruce de caminos», Yolanda Mozos with a tribute to women in the flamenco tradition, El sonido que trae LALOLA with «Lalola y las de atrás» and Pepi Mantas with «Mujer en verso». Street shows include «Dial-a-story» and «Invisible y todas las demás».
As a novelty of this edition, municipalities can choose a workshop from among six groups designed for the occasion, which will reach 58 municipalities. In this way, as Moreno explained, all the municipalities of the province will have at least one activity, whether a workshop or a performance. The workshops, focused on well-being and physical and emotional health, will be led by Marta Modrego, Jorge Santos, Pura Mayorgas, Isis Costa, Margarita Merino and Eva M. Vega Pavón.
Moreno pointed out that 98% of the municipalities of Andalucía are rural, where 60% of the Andalusian population resides, and that around one million eight hundred and fifty thousand women live in them, 49.8% of the rural population. According to the delegada, rural areas continue to face challenges such as aging, masculinization and female rural exodus, which is why she advocates continuing to promote policies of equal opportunities, employment and participation of women in the economic, social and political life of the towns.
