The Diputación organises a debate on the European Union's annual speech
The Eurodesk-Europe Direct office of the Diputación de Córdoba, together with the Academia de Debate Aljafe, held an activity open to the public on Tuesday, September 15, to follow and analyse the speech on the state of the European Union.

The Diputación de Córdoba, through its Eurodesk-Europe Direct Provincia de Córdoba office, organized together with the Academia de Debate Aljafe an activity open to the entire community of Córdoba around the speech on the state of the European Union (known as SOTEU, for its acronym in English), which the head of the European Commission delivers every year.
According to the statement issued by the Diputación, the activity consisted of viewing the speech delivered by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, followed by a round table to analyze and discuss its content live.
The delegate for Treasury and European Funds of the Diputación, Ana Rosa Ruz, explained that the speech provides an overview of the work carried out over the past year and offers information on the main challenges to be addressed in the near future, including climate change, migration, the economy, and international relations.
Ruz added that the address also serves to reveal the political priorities and legislative initiatives that the European Commission plans to develop over the coming year, as well as the political direction the European Union wants to take.
The delegate specified that the event was organized in a hybrid format, combining in-person and digital participation, with the aim of allowing people from across the province to follow it regardless of distance.
