La Ronda de Poniente will have one lane in each direction from early November due to the works

Traffic on the Ronda de Poniente (A-3050), between the María de Maeztu and Turruñuelos roundabouts, will be diverted from early November onto a branch road built for the Ronda Norte works. The section will go from two carriageways in each direction to a single lane in each direction.

Anyone travelling along the Ronda de Poniente (A-3050) from the beginning of November will do so on a slip road opened for the works on the first phase of the Ronda Norte de Córdoba. The diversion affects the 350 metres between the María de Maeztu and Turruñuelos roundabouts, which will go from two carriageways in each direction to a single lane in each direction.

Pedestrian crossing guaranteed

Pedestrians will keep the north-south connection, since the Ronda de Poniente crossing, located east of the María de Maeztu roundabout, will remain operational during the works. The reorganisation has been coordinated between the technicians of the Regional Ministry of Development and the Córdoba City Council.

Recommendation to avoid the area

The Regional Minister of Development and Mobility, Mario Muñoz-Atanet, and the Mayor of Córdoba, José María Bellido, have recommended avoiding the use of this road unless strictly necessary and using alternative routes to travel around the city once the works begin.

A 30 million project

The work began at the end of 2025 and has a cost of 30 million euros, according to the Regional Minister after the working meeting held this Tuesday at the City Hall with the Mayor. Both have discussed the process of a project that, according to the Regional Ministry, will improve the road connection and mobility in the city. Also present at the meeting were the delegate of the Government of the Junta de Andalucía in Córdoba, Adolfo Molina; the Director-General of Roads, Emilio Asensio; the territorial delegate of Development in Córdoba, Carmen Granados; and the Deputy Mayor for Mobility of the Córdoba City Council, Bernardo Jordano.

What to do

From the beginning of November, traffic using the Ronda de Poniente will travel along the opened slip road. It is recommended to avoid this road unless essential and to choose alternative routes.
