The project «Quiero ser un Héroe» will tour six municipalities in the province during the month of November with theatre performances aimed at children aged between 8 and 12. The goal, according to the Diputación de Córdoba, is for children to understand what volunteering is, why it is important and how they can carry out small solidarity actions in their everyday environment.

Dates and locations

The performances are scheduled in La Carlota on November 3, Villaviciosa de Córdoba on November 5, Villanueva del Rey on November 10, Zuheros on November 12, Palenciana on November 13 and Fernán Núñez on November 18.

Theatre, puppets and humour

The proposal uses actors, puppets and humour. The story's protagonist is a girl who dreams of being a superhero to save the world and feels disappointed when she cannot fly or shoot rays, until the «Guardián del voluntariado» appears and, together with his team, she starts helping to care for nature, accompany older people or support other children. The Diputación's delegate for Equality, Development Cooperation, Consumer Affairs and Citizen Participation, Auxiliadora Moreno, says the initiative seeks to «awaken solidarity attitudes from an early age» and foster empathy and mutual help.

Within the Escuela de Ciudadanía Activa

«Quiero ser un Héroe» is part of the Diputación's Escuela de Ciudadanía Activa Programme, which includes other proposals such as «Huellas solidarias: sembrando compromiso en Córdoba», aimed at young people aged between 18 and 35.
