The Rafael Botí Centre of Contemporary Art, of the Provincial Council of Córdoba, hosts from Thursday, October 15 until November 22 the exhibition 'Flor Es. Flores que contienen flores. Flores que imitan flores', within the 'Lecturas en Flor' programme.
The Rafael Botí Contemporary Art Centre, under the Diputación de Córdoba, hosts from Thursday, October 15 until November 22 the exhibition 'Flor Es. Flores que contienen flores. Flores que imitan flores', a proposal included within the 'Lecturas en Flor' programme.
Six artists and the Dionisio Ortiz School
Six artists take part in the exhibition, five of them specialised in ceramics: Aniana Heras, DelAmorYlaBelleza, Noemí Iglesias, Olivia Barroso and Yukiko Kitahar, as well as Ramón Luque, specialised in floral art. The exhibition is curated by Ignacio Collado and also features the participation of the Escuela de Arte Dionisio Ortiz, with pieces that will form an installation focused on artistic ceramics and live flowers.
As explained by the Culture delegate of the Diputación, Gabriel Duque, the exhibition «explores the link between the live flower and ceramics in any of its artisanal manifestations». The curator, Ignacio Collado, points out that 'Lecturas en Flor' is a programme born in 2016 that seeks to explore, from the languages of contemporary art and artisanal practices, the popular traditions linked to the culture of the flower in Andalusia and, especially, in the Córdoba patio.
Coordination with the Flora Festival
The Fundación Provincial de Artes Plásticas Rafael Botí has coordinated with those responsible for Flora, so that the exhibition is integrated as a highlighted activity within the festival's programme. Duque has also announced that the centre's second floor will soon open to host an exhibition with the winning works of the Concurso de Cerámica de La Rambla.
To visit the exhibition
The exhibition can be visited at the Rafael Botí Contemporary Art Centre from Thursday, October 15 until November 22.
