The organization has explained that the visit coincides with the 25th anniversary of the Shelter, a period in which, according to its leaders, the center has established itself as a place where work is done to "restore dignity, offer new opportunities and accompany those who need it most in rebuilding their lives."
The organization has noted that its work goes beyond attention to basic needs and consists of "listening, welcoming and walking alongside each person, always placing their dignity and their rights at the center."
