Copla reaches 33 peñas in 27 municipalities of Córdoba in October

The Diputación de Córdoba and the Federación Provincial de Peñas Flamencas are organizing the third edition of the Festival de Copla en las Peñas, with free recitals throughout the province during the month of October.

The Diputación de Córdoba, through its Delegation for Equality, Development Cooperation, Consumer Affairs and Citizen Participation, and the Provincial Federation of Peñas Flamencas are holding the third edition of the Festival de Copla en las Peñas during the month of October. The performances will be open to the general public.

Where and when

According to the head of Citizen Participation of the provincial institution, Auxiliadora Moreno, the festival will reach 27 municipalities in the province and the capital this year, in a total of 33 peñas. The recitals will begin on Friday, October 2 in Palma del Río and will continue in Montoro, Obejo, Espejo, La Carlota, Montilla, Córdoba capital, Priego, Villaharta, Adamuz, Fernán Núñez, Doña Mencía, Cañete de las Torres, La Rambla, Montemayor, Moriles, Baena, Belalcázar, Bujalance, Aguilar de la Frontera, Carcabuey, Belmez, La Guijarrosa, Albendín, Pozoblanco, Algallarín and Peñarroya-Pueblonuevo.

An agreement with the federation of peñas

Moreno has stated that the initiative is part of the named agreement that the Delegation maintains with the federation, focused on spreading flamenco through the towns of the province. According to her, the festival allows the peñas to open their doors to copla and gives opportunities to copla singers from the province. The provincial head has recalled that the two previous editions had more than a thousand attendees each year, both in 2024 and in 2025.

The federation seeks new generations of fans

The president of the Federación de Peñas Flamencas, José Gregorio Ramírez, has thanked the Diputación for its support and has explained that the aim of the festival is for young fans to come to the peñas, so that there are new generations who enjoy this activity. Ramírez has described the festival as an event that reaches almost the entire province and has stated that he hopes it will generate the same expectation as last year.
