The Patio Barroco of the Diputación de Córdoba hosted the ceremony for the presentation of the Tourist Merit Awards, organised by the Provincial Tourism Board. The president of the institution, Salvador Fuentes, welcomed the award winners together with the tourism delegate, Narci Ruiz. According to Fuentes, the Cordoba tourism sector began the year unevenly, with mobility difficulties and a decline in traveller numbers in the first quarter, but recovered in the second quarter, with year-on-year growth of 12.4% in the number of tourists, driven by spring and the Semana Santa in April. Fuentes also noted that the average rating given by visitors to the province reaches 9.4 out of 10. The president of the Diputación stressed the need to continue promoting inland tourism, sustainability, natural heritage and gastronomy in the comarcas, citing programmes such as «Córdoba Infinitas Experiencias» and the «Rutas de Castle Love».

Fuentes also had words for Vicente Amigo, named Ambassador of Tourism of Córdoba 2026, whom he described as an artist with forty years of career on international stages. Fuentes summarised the Diputación's approach by stating that «we want visitors who arrive in the capital to have reasons to travel to the province» and to discover a Montilla-Moriles winery, an oil mill, the gastronomy of Los Pedroches, a nature route in the Subbética or the industrial heritage of the area.
