The Mezquita-Catedral de Córdoba hosted on the afternoon of Monday, November 2 a requiem Eucharist for the deceased, which filled the naves of the temple. The mass was presided over by the bishop of Córdoba, Jesús Fernández González, and concelebrated by the dean-president of the Cabildo Catedral, Joaquín Alberto Nieva García, together with the canons of the chapter institution. The musical part was provided by the Orquesta de Córdoba and the Coro de Ópera de Córdoba (Fundación Cajasur), conducted by Salvador Vázquez, who performed a work by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Also participating were the titular organist of the Cathedral, Clemente Mata, and a quartet of soloists from the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía formed by the soprano Elsa Roldán, the mezzo-soprano Belén María Herrero, the tenor Pedro Nieves Millán and the baritone Matheus Alvarenga.

The collection, for the social action of Cáritas

The Cabildo Catedral allocated entirely the collection gathered during the celebration to the assistance and social action of Cáritas Diocesana, as indicated by the chapter institution. The bishop, during the liturgy, invited those present to Christian hope. The event is part of the city's religious calendar around the feast of the Faithful Departed. On October 24, the bishop and the Cabildo Catedral had participated in the Eucharist of the solemnity of San Rafael in the church of the Juramento, as reported by this portal, and the prelate blessed that same day the triumph of the Alpargate restored in the plaza del Cristo de Gracia.
