The Villa del Río Municipal Library has hosted the presentation of the book "La fiesta de la Virgen", by the writer Natalia Córdoba Galaso. The event was held on the afternoon of Friday, October 9, 2026, and included the participation of the author and the mayor of the town and head of the Culture department, Jesús Morales Molina, according to the Villa del Río Town Council.

A story to bring the Romería closer to the youngest

The work is a children's literature story published in 2025 by Apuleyo Ediciones, with illustrations by Romina Camoranesi. It is dedicated to bringing to early readers the history, tradition and popular devotion surrounding the Romería de Nuestra Señora de la Cabeza, which every year brings together pilgrims and devotees at the Sanctuary located in Sierra Morena, in the municipality of Andújar. The story begins with a conversation between a teacher and her students, who discover the meaning of this celebration. The Town Council explains that the publication combines literature, learning and tradition, and highlights the value of stories for transmitting knowledge and encouraging the reading habit from an early age.

Cultural activities in the municipality

The presentation is part of the cultural activities promoted by the Villa del Río Town Council to bring literature closer to the public and consolidate the Municipal Library as a meeting space for writers, readers and families. The Culture department thanks the author for her visit to the municipality and her willingness to share the publication, as well as the people who attended the event. Natalia Córdoba Galaso is a native of Andújar (Jaén).
